Returns and Refund Policy

Last updated: 17 July 2026

Sweepertec is a trading division of Brush Technology Limited.

This policy applies to goods purchased through the Sweepertec website. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

Contacting us about a return

Please contact us before returning any goods so that we can identify your order and provide the appropriate return instructions.

Email: info@sweepertec.com

Please include your name, order number, details of the goods and the reason for the return. Photographs may also be requested where goods are damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied.

Returns should be sent to:

Sweepertec
Brush Technology Limited
3 Throckley Industrial Estate
Westway Industrial Park
Throckley
Newcastle upon Tyne
NE15 9EW
United Kingdom

Goods returned without identifying information may take longer to process.

Consumer purchases

A consumer is someone purchasing goods wholly or mainly for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.

Consumers purchasing goods online normally have the right to cancel their order within 14 days after the day the goods are received, without giving a reason.

To exercise this right, you must clearly inform us of your decision to cancel within the cancellation period. You can do this by emailing info@sweepertec.com.

After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you must return the goods within a further 14 days.

Condition of consumer returns

You may examine the goods in the same way that you reasonably could in a physical shop.

No automatic inspection, handling or restocking charge will apply when a consumer properly exercises their statutory right to cancel.

However, we may reduce the refund to reflect any actual reduction in the value of the goods caused by handling, use, assembly, installation, alteration, damage or contamination beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and function of the goods.

For Sweepertec equipment, reasonable inspection does not normally include:

  • Attaching or fitting the product to a forklift, loader, telehandler or other machine.
  • Operating the product.
  • Using the brushes to sweep or contact the ground.
  • Using the product to move waste, debris or materials.
  • Using the product in a working, industrial or outdoor environment.
  • Storing the product outdoors or in damp conditions where it may become wet or suffer damage from ultraviolet (UV) exposure.

Once a Sweepertec product has been fitted or used in operation, it may no longer be possible for us to sell it as a new product. Where the product cannot reasonably be resold because of such use, its value may be reduced substantially and, in some cases, the reduction may equal the full price paid for the product.

This means that a consumer exercising their change-of-mind cancellation right may receive a reduced refund or no refund for the product itself where their handling or use has reduced its resale value to zero.

Any reduction will:

  • Be based on the actual reduction in value of the returned goods.
  • Be assessed individually after the goods have been inspected.
  • Take account of the product’s condition and whether it can reasonably be resold.
  • Not be applied automatically as a fixed percentage.

These provisions apply only to change-of-mind returns. They do not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly described or incorrectly supplied.

Consumer return costs

Unless goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly described or incorrectly supplied, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning them.

Goods should be securely packaged and returned using an insured and trackable delivery service appropriate for their size and weight.

Many Sweepertec products are large, heavy or palletised and cannot normally be returned through a standard postal service. These products may require collection by a pallet freight carrier.

The estimated cost of returning palletised goods is generally:

£80 to £160, including VAT, for returns collected from mainland Great Britain, depending on the collection location, product size and number of pallets.

Returns from Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isles of Scilly, Jersey, Guernsey or other offshore or international locations will be quoted individually and may cost more.

The actual cost will be confirmed before we arrange a collection.

We may be able to arrange collection on your behalf. Where we arrange collection for a change-of-mind return, the agreed collection cost may be deducted from your refund.

You remain responsible for the goods until they are received by us.

Business purchases

A business customer is someone purchasing goods wholly or mainly for use in connection with a trade, business, craft or profession.

Business customers do not have an automatic right to return correctly supplied goods because they have changed their mind, ordered the wrong product or no longer require the goods.

No business return will be accepted for credit without prior written authorisation from Sweepertec.

Where we agree to accept a business return:

  • The goods must be unused, uninstalled, clean, complete and in a resaleable condition.
  • The goods should be returned in their original packaging wherever reasonably possible.
  • The customer is responsible for return carriage and appropriate insurance.
  • Original delivery charges are not refundable.
  • A minimum inspection and handling charge of 20% of the returned goods’ value will apply unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Additional deductions may apply if the goods are incomplete, damaged, used, contaminated, incorrectly packaged or otherwise unsuitable for resale.
  • We may refuse credit where the goods cannot reasonably be resold.

Sweepertec products that have been fitted to machinery, operated or used for sweeping will normally be considered used and unsuitable for resale as new. Unless the goods are faulty or incorrectly supplied, we may refuse a business return where the product has been used.

Authorisation to return business goods does not automatically guarantee that a refund or credit will be issued. All returned goods will be inspected before any refund or credit is approved.

Damaged, faulty or incorrect goods

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

Contact us promptly if:

  • An item has been damaged in transit.
  • An item is defective.
  • You have received the wrong item.
  • Part of your order is missing.

Please provide your order number, a description of the problem and, where possible, photographs of the goods and their packaging.

Where goods are confirmed as faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, we will arrange an appropriate remedy. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, refund or collection at our expense.

Consumers have statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for their intended purpose. Those rights are not limited by this policy.

A customer will not lose their statutory rights merely because they used the product before discovering a fault.

The 20% business inspection and handling charge will not apply to goods that we confirm were faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.

Bespoke and special-order goods

The statutory right to cancel does not normally apply to goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised for them.

Unless faulty or incorrectly supplied, we may therefore be unable to accept change-of-mind returns for:

  • Bespoke or customised products.
  • Products manufactured to a customer’s individual specification.
  • Special-order or non-stock products obtained specifically for a business customer.
  • Goods that have been permanently altered or modified at the customer’s request.

Please contact us before ordering if you are uncertain whether a product is considered bespoke or specially manufactured.

Used, installed or contaminated products

Unless faulty or incorrectly supplied, products that have been used, installed, modified or contaminated may have little or no resale value.

A Sweepertec product will normally be regarded as used where it has been:

  • Fitted or attached to a vehicle or machine.
  • Operated or driven.
  • Used to sweep or move materials.
  • Used so that the brushes have contacted the ground.
  • Exposed to an industrial or working environment.

Used Sweepertec products cannot normally be resold as new.

For consumer change-of-mind cancellations, any refund reduction will reflect the product’s actual reduction in value. Where use has reduced the product’s resale value to zero, no refund may be due for the product itself.

For business returns, we may refuse the return of a used product unless it is faulty or was incorrectly supplied.

Contamination may include contact with:

  • Chemicals or oils.
  • Biological material.
  • Waste or slurry.
  • Glass or sharp materials.
  • Hazardous or unidentified substances.

We may refuse to handle or accept a product where doing so could create a health or safety risk. This does not remove any statutory rights, but we may require the customer to follow appropriate cleaning, packaging or collection arrangements.

Exchanges

Please contact us if you need a different product or size.

Where appropriate, we may agree to exchange unused goods. The customer may be responsible for return carriage, replacement delivery charges and any difference in product price.

Alternatively, you may return the original goods in accordance with this policy and place a separate order for the replacement product.

Consumer cancellation refunds

Where a consumer properly cancels an eligible online order, the refund will include:

  • The price paid for the returned goods, subject to any permitted reduction for loss in value.
  • The cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.

Any additional amount paid for express, timed, premium or upgraded delivery will not normally be refunded.

We may withhold the refund until:

  • We have received the returned goods; or
  • You provide satisfactory evidence that the goods have been returned.

Approved refunds will be made to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the goods back or receiving satisfactory evidence that they have been returned, whichever occurs first.

Your bank or card provider may take additional time to display the refund in your account.

Business refunds and credit notes

Approved business returns will normally be processed by refund or credit note after the goods have been received and inspected.

Any applicable return carriage, inspection, handling, cleaning, repair or reduction-in-value charges will be deducted before the refund or credit is issued.
